Jehovah. An anglicized form of the Hebrew name for the Deity, almost always translated "the LORD " in the Authorized Version.
Jesse and Jesse Window. A candlestick whose branches bore the names of the descendants of Jesse, the father of David, culminating in Christ. In the window a vine usually grows from Jesse's body.
Jesuit. A member of the Society of Jesus founded by Ignatius Loyola in 1534.
Jubilate Deo. Psalm c ; used as an alternative psalm at Morning Prayer.
